Where it all began
‘We Can Learn’ originated in a conversation between two teaching colleagues who expressed frustration at the lack of appropriate early-learning books for their own children that could help develop their speech and language. Many of the existing books were cluttered with words and pictures that seemed to confuse the child and undermine their confidence to learn.
With five young children between them and a combined teaching experience of over 35 years, Sinead Dore and Michael Doherty agreed that their own children were more stimulated by clear, legible words accompanied by real-life pictures. After months of research and consultation with early-education specialists, they developed a series of e-books that have at their core simple, uncomplicated learning based on the words and dialogue they had observed in their own children during the first stages of their development.
These e-books encourage your child to read and pronounce each new word, actively developing their verbal and visual learning whilst stimulating their imagination.
This sets in motion the first steps of the child's journey into the world of literacy and numeracy.
